Spring Camps

During camps that typically run between 9:30am till 3:30pm for five days during school holidays, children learn how to
write stories, essays, and poems in a fun setting. These camps are perfect both for students already learning the
Lekha way and for those who are new. For samples of work created by students of past camps please see Fun at

Spring 2007 Camps

Lekha Publishers will run two week-long camps April to coincide with the spring break of most schools in the area.
During the week, children will learn the basics of writing through fun and games. They will start writing a short story,
which they will then format on a laptop using Microsoft Word or Publisher. By the end of the week they will have
completed the first draft of a story in a genre and format of their choice.

A typical day at the camp starts with a language warm-up session at 9:30 AM. As the day progresses they would take
part in word walkarounds, write, tell stories, edit, and type. The day ends at 3:30 PM.

Spring Camp Dates:
Camp A:        April 9th -13th
Camp B:        April 16th - 23rd.

Camp Timings:   9:30 AM - 3:30 PM;

Camp fees:       $225.00 for first time participants.
                    $200.00 for students of Lekha school of Creative Writing and siblings.
Before and After School childcare: 8:00AM to 9:30 AM
                                              and 3:30 PM till 5:00 PM at $5:00/hour.
