"Practice maketh perfect". An adage that's as old as time itself holds good even today. Whatever your field maybe - sports or art - practice is the key.
Coupled with the fact that the ability to write creatively dims with age for many due to lack of practice, inhibition also tends to suppress imagination in the child. The founder of Lekha School of Creative Writing, Jyoti Yelagalawadi, has come up with an innovative idea in training children to be creative thinkers and writers where children learn how to practice creativity.
Using the Lekha way the child does not just learn how to read interesting books with wonderful images. The child does not just learn how to construct correct sentences using grand words. The child does not just learn how to edit a passage reviewing it for correctness. What the child will learn is how to write creatively using his/her imagination, while putting them across to the reader in a understandable way.
The children are taught taking their grade level and level of creative ability into account. Four Groups are made according to grade level, within which eight levels of creativity are subtly blended to make the most of the child's imagination and writing abilities.
